Heatmap Pro is a software platform providing actionable intelligence to renewable energy advocates, helping them stay informed about local opposition to clean energy development and build smarter community engagement plans. Heatmap Pro is a fast-growing division of Heatmap News, a successful media company covering climate change, clean energy, and sustainability for a large, professional audience.

We are seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to build the top of our sales funnel. This role will focus on researching and qualifying companies and contacts, writing and running outreach campaigns, and ensuring no opportunity slips through the cracks. The SDR will work closely with the Director of Sales to qualify leads and hand off warm opportunities, while consistently meeting activity and pipeline generation targets.

This position reports to the Director of Sales. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and gain experience in sales and renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research & List Building

- Identify and qualify potential customers across developer, nonprofit, and related market segments
- Prioritize high-fit accounts and decision makers based on market potential and activity triggers
- Maintain accurate data in HubSpot and continuously refine prospect lists to support targeted outreach

Outbound Prospecting

- Craft personalized cold email sequences and follow-ups that communicate Heatmap Pro’s value clearly and credibly
- Utilize automation softwares to run multi-touch outreach campaigns to generate and nurture new opportunities
- Re-engage inactive or closed-lost accounts through tailored messaging

Events & Webinars

- Coordinate pre- and post-event outreach to capture leads from industry conferences and webinars
- Segment and target audiences for recurring campaigns
- Track engagement metrics and share insights to improve future campaigns and messaging

Desired Skills & Experience

- 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field.
- Experience or education in clean energy or climate tech.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to write clearly and persuasively.
- Comfortable with high-volume prospecting and outreach, and motivated by activity goals and measurable outcomes.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with experience working in a CRM.
- Autonomous, accountable, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

Ideal candidates should be passionate about Heatmap's mission and excited about working for a small, yet growing company.

The salary minimum is $70,000 and the maximum is $85,000. Competitive benefits, unlimited paid time off, and a generous equity plan, which gives employees a real stake in the company, are also offered. This position is remote. While candidates from all over the U.S. are encouraged to apply, the Sales Development Representative is expected to keep East Coast hours.
